MC2 Amplifiers

MC2 Audio Ltd. has been manufacturing technologically innovative amplifiers of the highest quality for the pro-audio market for the past 10 years and is an OEM supplier to two of the top studio monitor manufacturers. Co-directors Terry Clarke and Ian McCarthy have combined their extensive experience in the audio industry with a commitment to promoting the highest standards of audio quality and reliability in manufacture.

Terry gained a worldwide reputation for design as co-founder and Technical Director of Klark Teknik. Ian's early experience was in the hi-fi side of the industry before moving into the manufacture of public address equipment in 1979 and then into professional audio in the early 1990s.

The story began in 1994 with the launch of the MC series at AES in Amsterdam. The first two models, MC450 and MC650, were in full production later that year and both amplifiers were received enthusiastically, being among the first in the market to be digitally controlled. The MC450 and MC650 were to set the very high standards of sonic quality and reliability for which MC2 Audio has gained a worldwide reputation, and which all products that followed have met.

The T Series made its debut at PLASA in 2000, with the launch of the T500 and the T1000. 2001 saw the appearance of the T1500, and this was swiftly followed in 2002 with the launch of the T2000 (1000W/channel into 4 ohms).

The long awaited E Series, lightweight, switchmode amplifiers was first shown at Pro Light & Sound in March 2003. Designed specifically for the touring market, the E Series has all the sonic qualities and reliability of the MC and T Series amplifiers, without the physical weight, and will bring the well renowned MC2 sound quality and reliability to an even wider range of users.

All MC2 Audio products carry a full 5-year warranty.

E15

This lightweight, switchmode amplifier has been designed to the same high standards of reliability and sound quality that our customers have come to expect of all MC2 Audio products.

Aimed at the touring market in particular, the E15 at 750W/channel into 4 ohms, built in a 2U chassis, has all the sonic qualities and reliability of the MC and T Series amplifiers, without the physical weight, making it an ideal choice for touring.

The switchmode power supply is capable of delivering high peaks without any perceptible bass 'sag' at very low distortion and is kept within its safe operating area by the new sophisticated MC2 'intelligent' limiter.

T-Line

tline

The T Line is a 100V/70V/50V 2U chassis capable of taking up to four 250W/500W/750W toroidal line transformers in any combination and is for use with any other model in the T Series.

T4-250

Designed for use in multi-zone installations, where sonic quality and reliability are the highest priorities. The T4-250 is a 4 x 250W amplifier housed in a 2U chassis and has been designed with complementary AB bipolar outputs, using the unique MC2 current driven floating drive stage and conventional analogue level controls.

The sound quality is maintained over a very wide range of load and temperature conditions. Sophisticated 'side chain' limiters prevent distortion and speaker damage but are out-of-circuit until the onset of clipping.

The control circuitry provides full protection against short circuits, DC and excessive temperature together with inrush current limiting and delayed 'turn on'.

T-500

Designed for use in a variety of applications in the fixed installation market, where sonic quality and reliability are the highest priorities, the high performance T500 (250W/channel into 4 ohms) has been designed with complementary AB bipolar outputs, using the unique MC2 current driven floating drive stage and conventional analogue level controls.

MC750

Introduced in October 1997, this technologically innovative, digitally controlled amplifier has been designed to be used in studios, clubs and a wide variety of fixed installations. The unique current driven drive stage adds an extra dimension to the bass dynamics, ensuring very accurate reproduction of transients coupled with a natural 'openness' not usually found in amplifiers of this type. The sophisticated microcontroller ensures that this performance is maintained over a wide range of temperatures and loads.

The heatsinks have been specifically designed to maximize efficient heat exchange allowing the MC750 to be run flat out, all night in the most arduous of conditions, without shutting down or cutting out.

Despite the sophistication of the amplifier, its modular design makes it remarkably easy to work with and it also has the option of a remote control facility.

MC1250

This top of the range, no-compromise, ultra-high quality and professional power amplifier has a sonic performance that is comparable to the very best hi-fi amplifiers, only much more powerful. Since its introduction in September 1996, the MC1250 has been extremely successful in the discotheque and night-club market all over the world, where it has proved itself capable of maintaining its high performance levels in the most demanding conditions.
