EARTHDANCE - GLOBAL DANCE FOR PEACE

Earthdance is a worldwide organization committed to promoting peace by joining participants worldwide in a synchronized PRAYER FOR PEACE and supporting humanitarian causes through the global language of music and dance. Each year, one day is dedicated to this mission as like minded promoters, club owners, artists, musicians and peace-lovers join to stage a synchronized world event in over 300 cities in 50+ different countries. Funktion One Australia is committed to this vision and as such has provided the audio requirements for the Melbourne event over the past three years both at Federation Square in 2004 and 2005 and at Collingwood Childrens Farm in 2006.
This year the Collingwood Childrens Farm saw 3,500 people turn out to enjoy the (mainly) great weather, the beautiful setting and the diverse entertainment. A single stage was programmed with a variety of live music and DJs, all delivered to the audience through Funktion One and MC² equipment overseen by Funktion One Australia. The main speaker stacks included Infrabass218 and F-218 speakers with Resolution 4s providing the mid-highs. Infill was provided by Resolution 2s and the remainder of the site including the market area and bar were kept happy with side stacks that included F-218s and Resolution 2s. Three Funktion One X-01 speaker management systems controlled an assortment of MC² T2000, T1500 and E25 amplifiers. The system performed faultlessly and many comments were received regarding the quality and intelligibility of the sound.
Funktion One remains the number one choice of sound system to the dance music community in Victoria and around Australia. No other system can boast the bass definition or the clarity in the mids and high-mids that is so essential to modern dance music.
