RESOLUTION 1

Radical 2-way small box loudspeaker with no compression drivers The Resolution 1 is a radical loudspeaker which is set to revolutionise the 2-way small box loudspeaker market. Tony Andrews' 30 years pioneering research and development of high efficiency cone mid-range has resulted in a completely new 5 inch loudspeaker (patent pending) which finally eliminates the need for compression drivers with their inherent harshness and distortion. This device, when used in conjunction with a miniaturised, dedicated Axhead-loaded waveguide, smoothly reproduces both the vital mid range and high frequencies with exceptional coherency and detail. Further, instead of stretching the response of a compromised compression driver to (almost) meet an equally stretched and indistinct 12" or 15" low frequency driver at 1 to 2 kHz as in traditional 2-way systems, Funktion One’s new 5" device properly connects with the (outstanding) 12" ported bass driver at 520Hz. The resulting bass is lively and very well defined.

Self powered version of the outstanding Resolution 2 The Resolution 2A self-powered loudspeaker is an amazing blend of state-of-the-art loudspeaker, amplification and DSP technologies which together set a new standard in quality, small, high output, ultra versatile enclosures. The Resolution 4 is the wide dispersion partner to the Resolution 5 system and is perfectly suited to use in medium sized applications with our F-218 or Resolution 18 bass, or as a delay or in-fill cabinet with Resolution 5 systems. Narrow dispersion, long throw 3-way loudspeaker We are proud to present the new Funktion One Resolution 5 system which represents a significant development of previous work by Tony Andrews and his team. Tony's consistent and focused development of low distortion spherical array systems has now culminated in what we believe to be the finest and smallest large-scale sound system available. In a world where research efforts have focussed on line array systems which, in our opinion are limited in application, the Resolution 5 system offers a meaningful alternative with enormous flexibility in use. The system is 'people friendly' with stunning aesthetics and unprecedented sound quality. The Resolution 5 is incredibly efficient requiring up to 10dB less drive level than previous designs to achieve the same level.

(DOWNFILL)

Downfill Partner to Resolution 5 System The Downfill cabinet is made to hang underneath a Resolution 5 system. It is designed in a wide vertical dispersion format which offers controlled coverage right down to the first row of seats, It's unique shape allows the rest of the cluster to be coupled closely together when the cabinets are kelped. This close coupling of boxes creates a more coherent wave front from the cluster and puts a finishing touch to the spherical cluster's aesthetics. As with other Resolution enclosures, all inter-cabinet flying hardware is included.

RESOLUTION 18

Flying bass The new Funktion One Resolution 18 flying bass enclosure has been designed for use in flown Resolution 4-5 touring arrays. The bass delivery from Resolution 18s is abundant, effortless, deep and precise. Resolution 18s are dimensionally identical to the Resolution 4 and Resolution 5 enclosures, facilitating co-ordinated system use. Where ground stacked bass is required we would advocate the use of the renowned F-218 double 18" bass enclosures. The Resolution 18 is an evolution of this design. The revolutionary flying system, (patent pending), makes the system extremely fast and easy to fly. With Resolution, there is no need for separate flying trunks or losable parts such as chains, links, pins or tools, as all inter-cabinet flying hardware is completely built into the enclosure.

Single 18" bass enclosure This is the single 18" version of Funktion One's renowned bass design, which is the result of an holistic approach, over many years of research and development, into bass loading techniques. The evolved product is highly regarded in professional audio circles for its extreme robustness and large quantities of tight, punchy, well defined bass from a very small and manageable package. Highest quality Finnish birch ply is used throughout its construction. For touring purposes we offer a Neodymium version of the 18" driver that gives a significant weight reduction. It comes complete with integral handles and wheels and for use in installations, we can of course supply without the wheels. The enclosure is finished in Funktion One deep violet.

Double 18" bass enclosure This is Funktion One's renowned bass design, which is the result of an holistic approach, over many years of research and development, into bass loading techniques. The evolved product is highly regarded in professional audio circles for its extreme robustness and large quantities of tight, punchy, well defined bass from a relatively small and very manageable package. When used with Resolution mid-high systems, the cross-over from the F-218 enclosures to the low mid device stands at just over 100Hz and the ensuing bass delivery is abundant, effortless, deep and precise. Highest quality Finnish birch ply is used throughout its construction. For touring purposes we offer Neodymium versions of the 18" drivers that give a significant weight reduction. It comes complete with integral handles and wheels and for use in installations, we can of course supply without the wheels.The enclosure is finished in Funktion One deep violet.

RESOLUTION FLYING
SYSTEM

The fastest and easiest rigging system available Funktion-One's flying system is the most elegant, effective and original solution ever devised to get a point source loudspeaker cluster in the air. An arena cluster can typically be assembled and flown by just two people in about 20 minutes. Furthermore, the hardware comes built in to the Resolution enclosures, with no bits to lose and no tools required. The cluster is solid and it is straightforward to aim the loudspeakers where they are required. Should re-aiming be necessary, Resolution enclosures are so light that two people can simply re-set the vertical angles without even dropping the cluster to the ground. The following pictures illustrate the main features of the system. Since these pictures were taken, we have introduced a chain hoist in the back leg of the bridle to enable simple front to back levelling of the grid, (pictures of this revision can be found towards the end of the sequence). This system is Patent Pending.

MINIBASS 212

 

Big sounding ported resonant chamber enclosure The Minibass 212 is an extension of the new Funktion-One infrabass technology which augments their new F88 compact full range enclosure as well as being capable of providing low bass extension to other products. The Minibass is small enough to fit under seating in restaurants and bars, consists of 2 x Funktion-One 16 ohm 12" loudspeakers which drive a ported resonant chamber enclosure handling 600watts and averaging 103dB between 40Hz and 125Hz. The efficient 8ohm enclosure allows multiple devices to be driven by one amplifier.

INFRABASS 218

Powerful bass extension down below 20Hz The patent pending Infrabass 218 is a completely new Andrews' bass design aimed at the octave from 30 - 60Hz. It delivers copious quantities of wonderfully smooth, deep bass for a powerful sonic experience. Forming the low-end foundation for the Dance Stack, the Infrabass can also give tremendous authority to Resolution 2s adding yet a further dimension to their application. With attention to timing, the Infrabass can be combined with F218s to give the extension and depth of a much larger system. Due to the very large current requirements of extreme low frequencies, only amplifiers with high calibre power supplies will realise the full potential of this product.

DOUBLE
INFRAHORN

Horn extension for double Infrabass 218s - an extra 12dB at 33Hz The Double InfraHorn is a horn extension which can be used in conjunction with a pair of Infrabass 218’s for applications with extreme bass requirements. The additional loading provided by the horn significantly enhances both the efficiency and directivity of the already superb Infrabass. When bolted directly to the front of a pair of Infrabass the horn increases the output of the pair by up to a staggering 12dB at 33Hz, thus giving a further depth and firmness to a system’s low end. Double Infrahorns can be used singly or stacked above each other in multiples to produce unprecedented low-bass performance. Where space permits, the Double Infrahorn represents a very cost effective way of maximising Infrabass output, whether it be for use within the club environment or for outdoor/live arenas.
